Mifepristone - Recommended Dosage
Mifepristone is available in form of pills of 200mg. One time dose of 600mcg (3 pills of 200mg each) is sufficient to end early pregnancy. 2 days after ultrasound or physical exam is performed to know if the pregnancy has been terminated. If a woman is still pregnant, 2 pills of 200mcg (total 400mcg) are administered again.
After two weeks, ultrasound and physical examination are performed to confirm the abortion. If second attempt is also not successful, other options like surgical abortion are recommended.
